The intention of this brief is to allow for creativity whilst also providing an array of robust building blocks to work with. To do this we are providing a set of REST APIs all centring around topics that we care about: sustainability and community.
Utilising these APIs you will produce a product that enables communities to connect, humans to be more sustainable or industry to cater to a more diverse world. You may use as many APIs as you like, however you only need to use at least one.
You will have access to these APIs before the hackathon event for research purposes, but should not begin building before the hackathon event. On the 2nd July, you will be given a react app template that you will need to use to interact with the API(s) of your choice.

Before you start digging into the APIs we recommend downloading Postman, this will allow you to easily send and receive data from the APIs and make it easy to inspect the data. You can import an existing Postman Collection for ease, more info here.
You will receive a React App template on the weekend - do not start coding before then! In order for us to give you this template you will need to show us:
To quickly view and play with the various APIs you can simply click the following link to import the Postman collection into your Postman App.
At the end of the weekend, your team will deliver a 5 minute presentation of your work. The awards will be decided by our panel of expert judges. Award categories are:
